Bellingham Selectboard approves bridal shop one-day license and opens annual town meeting warrant during snowstorm remote session.
BELLINGHAM -- January 26, 2026, Bellingham Selectboard approves bridal shop one-day license and opens annual town meeting warrant during snowstorm remote session. The board met fully remotely January 26 after a major storm, described by Town Administrator Joe Malerba as the largest in about four years, and voted 4-0 on all items, with member Mike Donahue recorded as abstaining after repeated video-platform disconnections. The board approved a beer-and-wine one-day special license for Velace Bridal at 11 Mechanic Street for a Valentine's Day "sip and shop" event February 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with TIPS-certified server Jean Barry on the application. Members also adopted the vote language required for an interim loan from the Massachusetts Clean Water Trust under financing agreement DWPEC-24-89, tied to an already-underway water treatment plant project, and opened the May 27, 2026 Annual Town Meeting warrant with a February 27 noon closing deadline. Malerba also noted the ABCC approved the Tavern in the Square liquor license earlier that day, with the business hoping to open the following Monday.
