Bellingham Select Board Approves New Recycling Fees Starting September 1

BELLINGHAM — July 14, 2025 — Bellingham Select Board approves recycling fees and enters executive session on town administrator. The board voted 5-0 Monday to impose new per-item fees at the recycling center — $40 per mattress or box spring, $5 per tire, and up to $25 per television — effective September 1, 2025, in a move expected to generate roughly $90,000 annually for the town's recycling enterprise fund ahead of the November tax-rate-setting process. The board also approved two end-of-year budget transfers totaling $119,503 and appointed Nicole Forsythe to the Conservation Commission, with one member noting that Conservation Commission Chair O'Harren described Forsythe as an ideal fit based on her science background and ability to read architectural diagrams. The evening closed with a unanimous vote to enter executive session to discuss strategy for negotiations over the town administrator position.
