Bellingham Select Board Approves Restaurant License, Mail-In Voting, and Infrastructure Work

BELLINGHAM — April 7, 2025 — Bellingham Select Board approves mail-in voting, restaurant license, and ADA path contract in busy April session. The board voted 4-1 to make mail-in ballots available for the annual municipal election, now 57 days out, with Interim Town Clerk Amy Baroloney estimating mailing costs of up to $2,318 if all 2,200 historical local-election voters requested one; residents must apply through the town website or state portal. The board voted unanimously to award a bid to Ramco Survey State Company of West Bridgewater for a 2,400-foot ADA-accessible stone aggregate path at the upper sports fields off Lone Street, to be completed before August 1. The board also approved a new AFSCME Local 747 Department of Public Works MOU featuring a 3 percent annual raise, a common victualler license for a new Indian fast-casual restaurant called Banga at 250 Hartford Avenue, and — by a 3-2 margin — a motion to keep the town administrator screening committee at its original five members, rejecting Chair Reny's earlier nomination of a sixth member as a break from the established public application process. Reny announced he will not seek re-election due to ongoing health issues.
