Bellingham Conservation Commission approves Hartford Avenue commercial with sand-only deicing. The seven-member Commission voted 4 to 2 with 1 abstention to restrict de-icing to sand only on sidewalks and parking lots for a commercial building project at 455 Hartford Avenue by applicant Moshe Attias of Darn Properties LLC, protecting bordering vegetated wetlands from salt contamination. The Commission then voted unanimously to close the hearing and issue an Order of Conditions.
The Commission also voted unanimously to issue an Enforcement Order for a restaurant property at 445 Hartford Avenue after documenting flour and grease bin-cleaning without proper containment causing contamination.
