BELLINGHAM — September 24, 2025 — Bellingham Conservation Commission clears garden project, advances shed mitigation in unanimous votes. The commission voted unanimously at its September 24 meeting to issue a negative determination of applicability for a proposed garden at 29 Irish Lane, allowing applicant Ramler to proceed with conditions including no-disturb-zone markers and limits on regrading tire tracks within the 30-foot buffer. At 12 Monique Drive, the board approved an order of conditions allowing a 359-square-foot shed to remain in the wetland buffer zone, with mitigation plantings at a 2-to-1 ratio — using smaller-caliper trees for better establishment — and a planting plan due by June 15, 2026, subject to three years of monitoring. The board also directed staff to notify the owner of 380 Lake Street that a formal wetland delineation must be submitted by early November or a violation notice will be considered.
