BELLINGHAM — Failed school override would eliminate 37 positions, sports, and activities. The Select Board heard from school officials Mr. Marano and Mr.
Reed on the impacts of a failed override: elimination of middle and high school sports, removal of all extracurricular activities, and $150,000 cuts to building maintenance. Transportation and special education costs have risen by double digits, while lack of new growth and rising health insurance costs are driving the crisis. In other business, the board unanimously approved the transfer of a package store wine and malt beverages license to SHEDA, Inc. dba Bellingham Beer & Wine at 20 North Main Street, and unanimously sanctioned the May 17 Memorial Day Parade.
