Bellingham Conservation Commission Approves Slope Restoration, Continues Prospect Hill Review

BELLINGHAM — December 11, 2024 — Bellingham Conservation Commission closes year with nine votes across seven active cases. At the December 11 meeting, the board approved a notice of intent for slope restoration at 45 Road, directing an order of conditions requiring bank stabilization to be issued within 21 days, and issued a negative determination with conditions for an erosion-control project at 455 Harford Avenue that requires a contained oil storage pad and no-disturb markers at the toe of a wetland buffer slope. The commission also accepted the withdrawal of a berm proposal at Cake Lane Parcel C by Sub Center Realty after previously signaling the structure would worsen drainage conditions. The most contested matter, the 156-unit Prospect Hill Village townhouse development off Lake Street by Wall Street Development Corp., was continued to January 22 amid a dispute over a $9,300 peer-review fee and a newly authorized deed search — expected to take three to four weeks — to determine whether the applicant owns the railroad bed adjacent to the site.
