Bellingham Conservation Commission Clears Peer Reviews for Two Development Projects

BELLINGHAM — June 25, 2025 — Bellingham Conservation Commission authorizes peer reviews for two contested projects and bids farewell to a 23-year member. At the June 25 meeting, commissioners unanimously approved a $3,700 BSC Group peer review for the Prospect Hill Village notice of intent — a proposed 129-unit townhouse development off Lake and Prospect streets affecting bordering vegetated wetlands and FEMA flood zone A land — after applicant's representative Lou Luprosi delivered payment to the town the same day. The scope was narrowed to the hydrology of a 35,000-square-foot wetland replication area and two wetland crossings; members agreed a wildlife habitat report required no independent review. The commission also unanimously authorized Beals and Thomas to peer-review the Bellingham DPW's High Street well access road project, continued both hearings to July 23, and scheduled a July 12 site walk at the High Street location. A separate 10-12 Main Street redevelopment continued 4-0 with one abstention from departing member Neil, who received recognition for 23 years of service; the Select Board is scheduled to interview three replacement applicants on July 7.
