Commission approves six Toll Brothers lots, continues Wrentham Road culvert case
Conservation Commission · Meeting of September 9, 2026
Bellingham conservation board clears six subdivision lots, presses pause on Wrentham Road culvert fix. The Conservation Commission voted 6-0 to continue the town's culvert-replacement hearing for Wrentham Road over Bungay Brook after a member flagged a discrepancy between the proposed crossing elevation and FEMA flood-study data; a DPW representative said the town hopes to build it next spring. The board approved orders of conditions for six lots — C2, C4, 78, 82, 93 and 94 — in a Toll Brothers subdivision off Mechanic and Middle streets, continuing several others.
Residents Frank Morse and June Hager described years of stormwater damage from town land draining onto their Duhamel Way-area properties; Hager said a contractor once found "hoses pumping water out of my foundation like you wouldn't believe." Members said they lack authority to fund or approve a fix without an engineered plan and a formal permit application.
