Bellingham Conservation Commission Continues All Four Hearings to November 12

BELLINGHAM — October 22, 2025 — Bellingham Conservation Commission continues all five pending matters to November 12 with no final orders issued. The board voted unanimously five times at its October 22 meeting, first clearing two long-stalled hearings — one tied to the MBTA commuter rail right-of-way vegetation plan, another for Blackstone Street infrastructure — and warning that the Cory Development LLC single-family home proposal on Lake View Avenue faces closure and likely denial after two consecutive meetings with no applicant communication. Two new hearings moved substantively forward: engineer Shang Wang of Creative Land and Water Engineering presented a plan for 75 Lakeshore Drive that would replace a steeply pitched paved driveway with a level gravel surface behind two tiers of modular block retaining walls, reducing impervious area by 418 square feet; and Bill Holling of Land Planning Inc. described a 169-square-foot garage addition at 307 Farm Street set 33 feet from the edge of disturbance. Both await state and local file numbers before final orders can be issued. Under other business, commissioners reached an informal consensus with 225 Farm Street homeowner Michael Castro to resolve a 2018 no-disturb violation by removing cobblestone landscaping edging and ceasing mowing, with a certificate of compliance to follow a spring site visit by conservation staff.
