Open Space panel greenlights trail cleanup, advances Charles Headwater Greenway study.

Bellingham's Open Space and Recreation Committee advanced the Charles Headwater Greenway feasibility study and welcomed new member Amanda Verdone at its April 7 meeting. Chair Chad Kelley and Conservation Agent Hannah Chace reported that consultant Bowman Engineering has been selected and held its first working group meeting; the project includes Bellingham, Blackstone, and Mendon with monthly check-ins planned. The committee scheduled a trail cleanup for May 16 at 9 a.m. at the Maple Street property and discussed updating open space areas on Google Maps and boosting social media promotion of cleanup events.
Members Arianne Barton and Danielle Dulchinos will continue work on the Open Space and Recreation Plan in response to state conditional approval.
