Commission delays Thompson Papers digitization, explores grants
Historical Commission and Bellingham's Ernest A. Taft Jr. Historical Museum Agendas · Meeting of June 15, 2026
Bellingham Historical Commission postpones reorganization, delays Thompson Papers vote. The five-member board voted unanimously to defer action on a $10,000-plus digitization and preservation project for the Thompson Papers collection, choosing instead to explore grant funding. Chair Jeffrey Prescott oversaw updates to ongoing initiatives, including advancement of the Fire Engine Restoration Committee work, with Rick Marcoux assigned to scope the project and Bernadette Rivard tasked with soliciting donations from town businesses.
The commission also noted that Bellingham's November Town Meeting will include a vote on the Community Preservation Act.
