Library Board approves food, drink, and latex policies.

BELLINGHAM — The Bellingham Board of Library Trustees unanimously approved the second readings of the Food and Drink Policy and the Latex Policy on February 19, 2026. Chair Macala Lamour led the meeting, with Director Bernadette Rivard in attendance and Secretary Laura Bracey absent. The board also unanimously approved a motion allowing the Athena Council to sell books at a Women's Authors event on April 3rd, contingent on donating 10 percent of sales to the Friends of Library and providing proof of 501(c)(3) status.
The Bellingham Friends of Library donated $1,972.92 to reimburse the library for chairs and cabinets. A first reading of the updated Internet Access and Safety Policy, designed to ensure CIPA compliance and e-rate funding eligibility, was conducted.
