Library board approves revised FY27 budget, updates internet policy

Board of Library Trustees · Meeting of March 12, 2026

Bellingham Library Trustees approve revised FY27 budget and tighten display-space policies. The board unanimously adopted a budget of $739,485, a 7.87 percent increase per town request, and approved an updated Internet Access and Safety Policy aimed at CIPA compliance and e-rate funding eligibility. Library Director Bernadette Rivard reported that staff member Barbara Pacak is retiring at month's end with an internal successor; the board voted to deny display-space use to the Union of Concerned Scientists and authorized a $925 professional-development course for staff pending CFO approval.

A patio project funded in 2023 remains incomplete due to recent Town Hall staffing changes.
