Bellingham Planning Board approves Cranes 101 storm water plan after prolonged process

BELLINGHAM — March 14, 2025 — Bellingham Planning Board approves storm water decision for hoisting business, advances two zoning amendments, and loses a member to the bench. The board unanimously approved a development plan and storm water management permit for Cranes 101 at 57 Amendment Street, capping on-site unregistered hoisting vehicles at six and requiring interim erosion controls while the applicant secures financing for construction. The board also reduced Harmony Village subdivision bonds — cutting the phase one and two bond from $77,000 to $15,400 and the phase 3A bond from $212,300 to $42,460 — while leaving the $691,000 phase 3B bond untouched. Two zoning bylaw amendments were forwarded to the Select Board for the 2025 Spring Town Meeting warrant: a mandatory flood plain update tied to revised FEMA maps taking effect July 8, and new Accessory Dwelling Unit regulations replacing the town's Family Apartment bylaw. Planning board member Brian Divine announced his resignation effective March 26 after the Governor's Council confirmed his nomination as a Probate and Family Court judge.
